Morning Dreams

Leave out the screams

night terrors cause

one to wake fast

all aghast

Morning dreams are curious things

that make me wonder what I may have

created during my slumber

I walked on a narrow ledge grasping the stone

I couldn’t see the bottom and wasn’t alone

Someone was behind me trying to find me

We made it all the way around and stepped

Up on solid ground

The dolphins in the water nuzzled my neck

They were cute little friends that stuck

By me to the end

There was another beast in the water

It felt like a succubus

I don’t think it was one of us?

It was weighing me down

While not making a sound

I was mad about my books

I wondered if anyone had taken a look?

My recent mom asked to hear my story

I tried to scrabble it around

So she could understand my sounds

Then my dogs started to groan

Oh how they moan

So I got out of bed to let them out

Maybe I’ll find mom on my next roundabout,

and will have an explanation figured out.
