Soup Up My Day
Maybe a roll in the hay,
That doesn’t result in dismay
Â
Or an endless massage
in a hidden garage
transformed into luxury
where we escape from this drudgery!
Â
There must be a way to hide
from the idiots, we’ve taken on this ride
and soup up my day with a mixture of play
Â
How about a picnic in the park
without noise from the ark
An afternoon of conversation
that resembles God’s art
A place without children
who act like buffoons
scrambling like ants
thinking they are tycoons
carrying away crumbs
daily at noon
Â
If we change our routine
maybe we won’t be seen
we can drop some food
then scoot to our hidden room
A place where we can stand
face to face
and discuss my current state of disgrace
Â
Genesis 6, NIV
13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress[ wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.
